The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has released an interim report on the investigation of the dinner that Mr. Taniwaki and the director of the International Strategy Bureau, Makiguchi, had with the presidents of NTT. It was revealed that Mr. Makiguchi had received an illegal entertainment of about 40,000 yen in one case.

In the interim report, Mr. Taniwaki and Mr. Makiguchi, Director of the International Strategy Bureau, have compiled a list of specific dates, places, participants, and prices for the dinner with the presidents of NTT. It is said that all the dinners were entertainment that violated the ethical code of national civil servants.

Of these, Mr. Taniwaki said that he received a total of 101,852 yen in entertainment, with one in July last year and two in September three years ago.

At the most expensive dinner in September three years ago, course meals and champagne and wine cost more than 60,000 yen per person.

Mr. Taniwaki said at the Budget Committee of the House of Representatives on the 4th of this month that he "I think he paid the amount presented in response to NTT's offer", but he actually paid. It was only 5,000 yen at the dinner last July.

In addition, Indonesian Ambassador Kanasugi, who was a foreign affairs deputy director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at that time, was also present at the dinner in July last year.

Mr. Taniwaki replied, "There was no other dinner that violated the ethical code" when investigating the entertainment problem from the satellite broadcasting related company, and this time, "Why did you not report the dinner with the NTT side?" It means that he answered "I'm really sorry" to the investigation.

On the other hand, Mr. Makiguchi received one entertainment in June last year, and the price of the entertainment excluding the 10,000 yen paid by him was 41,165 yen.

The store is the same as Mr. Taniwaki, and former Cabinet spokesman Yamada, who was a general affairs deputy at that time, was present.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications says that it is also confirming meals other than these four.

Mr. Taniwaki and Mr. Makiguchi explained to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications that they had the recognition that the NTT side was an interested party. I talked about the situation, but I haven't talked about individual matters related to profit induction. "

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will report to the National Civil Service Ethics Review Board of the Personnel Agency as soon as the investigation into the two is completed, and then dispose of it.

In addition, we plan to investigate a wide range of staff in charge of communications and broadcasting for any acts that violate the Code of Ethics.
