Erfurt (dpa / th) - Inspectors have found 111 cases in Thuringian companies in which employers had not offered a home office, although the activities would have allowed it.

The violations were recorded in 315 controls with a view to the applicable corona rules from the beginning of the year until March 3, said Heike Werner's (left) Ministry of Labor and Health at the request of the German Press Agency.

However, fines have not yet been imposed in this context.

According to the Corona Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance, no fine is due if home office options are not offered as intended.

However, deadlines have been set for the entrepreneurs concerned to make home office offers.

Only if they fail to meet these deadlines can proceedings for an administrative offense be initiated and then, depending on the outcome, a fine can be imposed.

In Thuringia, the state office for consumer protection is responsible for monitoring the occupational safety regulations.

In principle, all establishments are therefore checked.

Construction sites, for example, were one of the focal points.

In addition, companies that have received complaints or notifications from the occupational safety and health authorities would also be checked.

The checks with a view to Corona also check whether there is ventilation that is suitable for infection protection and whether contacts are reduced.

"The goal is to visit more than fewer companies," said the ministry.

It does not matter that some companies are currently closed.

The Prime Minister of the federal states and Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) agreed at their most recent round of negotiations on Wednesday that the regulations on home office should be extended until April 30th.

They stipulate that employers must continue to offer home offices wherever possible.

The ordinance also contains protective measures for those employees whose presence in the company is essential.

The aim is to reduce contacts at work and on the way there and thus fight the pandemic.
