March 8th is International Women's Day.

United Nations Secretary-General Guterres made a video speech stating that although the new crown epidemic has disrupted women's lives and eroded their rights, women have always been on the front line of responding to the pandemic.

Guterres also said that this year’s International Women’s Day highlights the transformative power of women’s equal participation.

Women are essential workers who sustain people’s lives and sustain the economy, communities and families.

"They are among the leaders in reducing the incidence of the epidemic and putting countries on the road to recovery."

Guterres appealed to countries, companies and institutions to implement special measures and quotas to promote women's equal participation and achieve rapid change.

"Whether it is managing a country, a company or a public movement, women are making contributions to benefit everyone and promote the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. At this moment, we are now building an equal future. This is something everyone has. Responsibility, everyone benefits."
