08 March 2021A squeeze that day by day becomes more and more concrete.

The Coronavirus contagion curve rises and Prime Minister Mario Draghi is ready to review the Dpcm that has just entered into force, if necessary.

Under the magnifying glass the situation of intensive care and the speed with which the new variants are moving, causing an increase in new cases.

For this reason, an extraordinary meeting of the premier with the competent ministers, Roberto Speranza and Mariastella Gelmini, with Agostino Miozzo of the CTS and with the emergency commissioner, Giuseppe Figliuolo, is scheduled today.

At the center of the meeting is the evaluation of the data of these days and any measures that in addition could lead to a lockout on the whole peninsula.

Yesterday 20,765 new cases were registered with 207 deaths.

The government's response, leaked from qualified sources close to the dossier, should lead to accept the opinion of the Scientific Technical Committee to

extend the parameter of 250 cases per 100,000 inhabitants for seven consecutive days

(already foreseen for the closure of schools both in the yellow regions and orange)

for the direct passage in the red zone.

In this way it would be easier and faster to enter the mode of maximum restriction, with the glance of a color change of the peninsula almost like wildfire.

Furthermore, the aim is also to organize in the meantime the largest mass vaccination campaign in our country.

But no generalized lockdown, they explain, "that of last March will not be repeated", they also ensure because today Italy not only has the necessary security measures available (masks and gels), but has also changed its behavior.

What we must intervene on are the areas of gathering and avoiding, especially today when we are aware that the variations circulate among young people, that the latter are a vector of contagion.

In fact, the alarm of the ANCI president, Antonio Decaro, did not fall on deaf ears, who pointed out that the boys in Dad are more inclined to crowd the areas of the 'nightlife'.

For this reason, not only

the hypothesis of bringing forward the curfew

has returned to the table

, but also the possibility of

"closing" the weekends

, to avoid even the classic 'grinding' in the shopping streets.

In fact, with the entry into force of the new decree, the controls with the Interior Ministry which required 'targeted and planned' services were strengthened.

Yesterday the Minister of Health returned to express his concern: "The second wave is never over, we are witnessing a very strong recovery due to the impact of the variants, which is leading us to increasingly restrictive measures on the territories".

In fact, Speranza's forecast is that "other regions will go red with restrictive ordinances" and anticipates that "the measures must be adapted to the trend of the epidemiological curve and we will evaluate the trend day by day".

A connection work that Prime Minister Draghi is guiding with caution, with the sole objective of safeguarding public health.

The hypothesis that he talks to Italians on this issue is excluded for now, today's one will in fact be a video message addressed to the Conference 'Towards a National Strategy on Gender Equality', promoted by the Minister for Equal Opportunities and the Family, Elena Bonetti, in which the fundamental role of women in society will be emphasized, precisely in this long year bent by the pandemic.

On the other hand, the appointment on Friday in the vaccination center of Rome and that of Bergamo on March 18 for the celebrations on the occasion of the National Day in memory of the Coronavirus victims is expected.
