There are still some bad students in France in terms of professional equality between women and men.

Fifty-three companies with 250 to 1,000 employees have scored less than 75 points for the third year in a row.

They will be contacted by the regional labor directorates since they are thus financially indebted to the French State.

In 2019, 17,500 company interventions resulted in 300 formal notices and 11 financial penalties.

Problem of parity in high salaries

Increases on return from maternity leave, an obligation that has existed since 2006, are not respected in 13% of cases.

This concerns more than 3,000 companies according to the Ministry of Labor.

More checks will therefore be carried out in order to make up for these increases not carried out.

Another point that fishes, the parity in the ten highest salaries of the company.

To advance this issue, a bill could impose quotas for women in the management bodies of companies.

Since 2019, companies with more than 250 employees have been required to publish their results in terms of professional equality between women and men.

This index is evaluated according to several criteria.

  • the gender pay gap (40 points)

  • the difference in annual increases (20 points)

  • the difference in promotions (15 points)

  • increases upon return from maternity leave (15 points)

  • the presence of women among the highest salaries in the company (10 points)

The whole gives a score out of 100. You can also find

the overall scores on the website of the Ministry of Labor

.

For companies with 50 to 250 employees, this obligation to display the efforts made in terms of equality dates from March 2020.
