Olympique Lyonnais announced on Monday that it had reached a salary reduction agreement with some of its players, players and staff, who will be able in exchange to convert part of their remuneration, representing between 5 and 25% of their salary, in OL Groupe shares.

It applies from the month of February and can go until at least June 2021, specifies a press release from the OL which refers to an agreement "with some of the actors of the female and male professional groups after numerous meetings organized these last three weeks ".

"Olympique Lyonnais would like to particularly thank all those who spontaneously accepted this principle, already representing 50% of the squad, thus demonstrating a collective drive and the excellent state of mind that reigns within the club", continues OL.

"The women's team and a number of them (sports players) had already participated in the reduction of salaries during the first confinement," recalls the Rhone club, which hopes "for an even greater, even systematic membership" from the share of its professional workforce in the coming days or weeks.

On February 17, Jean-Michel Aulas said he had offered his players a reduction in remuneration affecting salaries above 50,000 euros per month, an effort offset by performance bonuses or the acquisition of club shares with the hope of added value.
