Mainz (dpa / lrs) - After the primary schools in Rhineland-Palatinate, the fifth and sixth grades of the secondary schools will start alternating classes on Monday.

In addition, further cautious steps are being taken to lift corona-related restrictions on public life.

Around 71,000 pupils are taught in the fifth and sixth grades, around 30,000 of them at grammar schools.

Since February 22nd, 148,000 children have been learning at primary schools in alternation with distance learning at home.

All other classes should then switch to alternating lessons on March 15 - provided that the further infection process allows it.

From this Monday the retail trade in large parts of the country may reopen under certain conditions.

In shops up to 800 square meters, there is a limitation of one customer to ten square meters.

Shops remain closed in counties with an incidence greater than 100.

Museums, memorials and galleries can also reopen under certain conditions.

Body-hugging services are also possible again.

Cosmetics, shaving and other offers where a mask cannot be worn may only be offered if a daily negative test is presented.

The first rapid test centers will be available for this from today.

The infrastructure for rapid tests is then to be gradually expanded for all people in Rhineland-Palatinate by the beginning of April.
