The authority clarified that the new measures are represented in the necessity to take all necessary health facilities towards providing direct phone numbers so that the families of the patient infected with the virus can communicate with him to know and follow the developments of his health condition.

The second measure made available by the authority is the commitment of health professionals, including the medical and nursing staff responsible for the health status of each patient infected with the virus, to take the necessary steps to communicate by phone with the patient's family, inform them of the latest health status of the patient, and clarify his health status periodically, after obtaining Written consent from the patient or his legal representative, in accordance with the provisions of applicable legislation and documenting that consent in the patient's health record.

She added, "The identity of the person must be ascertained before giving any information about the condition of the injured person, and in the event that information about the condition of the injured person is requested from an unauthorized person, then the patient's relatives are contacted on the registered numbers and give them information about the inquiry and the condition of the injured."

Dubai Health stressed the need to record all contacts with the injured person's family in his medical file, provided that it includes "the contact number, the name of the health professional who made the call and his jurisdiction, the name of the person who was contacted, his relationship to the patient, and the time of contact."
