Anti-reconciliation bracelets are currently being deployed in Marseille for victims of violent spouses or ex-spouses.

An alternative that serves to protect women before a tragedy occurs, using a GPS box similar to a cell phone.

REPORT

In order to protect women victims of domestic violence, anti-reconciliation bracelets are developing more and more in France.

Their principle, to determine areas in which the ex-spouse can no longer go to prevent any meeting with the victims.

In Marseille in particular, this system is in full deployment and has already changed the daily lives of many women, who are finally finding a taste for a normal life.

"My little angel Gabriel"

This is the case for Anne, who no longer walks without her GPS box slipped into her handbag.

"I called him my little Gabi, for the angel Gabriel. With this box, I can send an SOS or request a call back," she explains.

His former companion is also equipped with a similar GPS, as well as an electronic ankle bracelet.

Devices that react gradually when crossing two alert perimeters.

"It's very reassuring. It's been two weeks since I started doing full nights again and I managed to sleep. I no longer have a lump in my stomach and I am relearning to live normally", admits Anne.

"I was followed, hunted down. But all that is in the past."

Difficult to part with

This device is an alternative to imprisonment and is set up for a period of six months, renewable several times, since its maximum duration is two years.
