Arnstadt / Erfurt (dpa / th) - operators of DIY stores in Thuringia have called for openings in neighboring federal states to be allowed to open the doors to customers in the Free State again.
"Do we really want the Thuringians to go on excursions to our neighbors from today to meet their needs for building materials and hardware store articles?" Asked Raphael Brönner, managing director of a building materials center in Arnstadt, in a statement on Monday.

Thuringia has been by far the most severely affected federal state by the pandemic for a long time.
On Monday, the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within the past seven days was 135 and had thus increased further over the past few days.
