Halle (dpa / sa) - Saxony-Anhalt's State Office for Consumer Protection has checked compliance with the corona rules at workplaces in more than 550 cases since the beginning of the year, including the obligation to work from home.

In a total of 558 controls this year, a total of 297 violations had been found by March 3, the state office in Halle announced on request.

No fines were imposed in connection with the controls.

While keeping your distance, wearing masks and disinfectant dispensers were not a problem, apart from individual cases, there were many deficiencies in the documentation.

The deficiencies were corrected during follow-up controls.

All controls were actually carried out in the company, it said.

Among other things, the selection was based on the risk.

If, for example, several positive corona cases were reported in a company, the inspectors would have looked at the working conditions.

This has happened from the meat and logistics industry to the small metal construction company or retail business.

When checking, for example, in a company, both the production were checked for the Corona rules and the office was also checked for the obligation to work from home.

The statistics do not show how many violations of the home office obligation there have been, it said.

The Prime Minister of the federal states and Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) agreed at their most recent round of negotiations last Wednesday that the regulations on home office should be extended until April 30th.

According to this, every company must offer its employees home office if the activities are suitable.

This is to reduce the risk of employees getting infected at work or on the way there.
