A 14-year-old teenager was seriously injured in the chest with a stabbing weapon and "his prognosis is vital", after a brawl between gangs of young people in Val-de-Marne, we learned from a police source.

Another 16-year-old minor was injured during this brawl which took place around 6 p.m. in the city center of Champigny-sur-Marne, where at least fifteen young people, from two separate neighborhoods, gathered faced, the Créteil prosecutor's office told AFP.

The two injured were taken to hospital "in a worrying state", said the prosecution.

Four people were arrested, according to a police source.

The investigation was entrusted to the territorial security of Val-de-Marne.

Precedents last month

Two fatal brawls had occurred in the neighboring department of Essonne, on February 22 and 23: two 14-year-old teenagers were killed in less than 24 hours during violent fights between young people, in two towns 45 kilometers away, Saint-Chéron and Boussy-Saint-Antoine.

A total of 13 minors were indicted for these two killings.

On February 26, another 15-year-old teenager was shot dead in a neighborhood house in Bondy (Seine-Saint-Denis), following a dispute with his attackers, two brothers aged 17 and 27. who have since been indicted and remanded in custody.
