A female Emirati student wins the "Lady of the Year in Institutional Finance" award

Student Shama Al Hosani from the College of Management at Zayed University won the "Lady of the Year in Corporate Finance" award from Ernst & Young out of seven finalists nationwide, during an award ceremony that was held virtually via the Internet.

The "Lady of the Year in Institutional Finance" initiative, organized by Ernst & Young for the fourth year in a row, aims to prepare a generation of Emirati women who are active in the private sector, especially in the field of transaction services and corporate finance, while emphasizing the capabilities they enjoy. Al Hosani, 21, who is completing her final year at Zayed University in the field of accounting, indicated that she has gone through three stages in the competition, which are selecting the topic, individual interview, and group activity.

Al Hosani has completed all the requirements in the manner that led her to the introduction, and is now seeking to officially represent the United Arab Emirates in the international virtual competition to be held in April 2021 with the participation of many students from around the world, and to win a practical training period provided by Ernst & Young for a period of three months, fully paid. Shama Al Hosani expressed her happiness with passing all stages of the competition and announcing the first place winner, and her nomination for the international competition as a representative of the United Arab Emirates.

She said, "This competition was a wonderful experience that gave me a comprehensive view of the world of corporate finance, strategies and transactions, and gave me the opportunity to apply the knowledge I gained from Zayed University to the ground, as well as to meet female entrepreneurs who share my passion for specializing in this field."

She added: “Through this competition, I interacted directly with experts and specialists from Ernst & Young who helped me delve into more complex transactions. I am very honored to represent the United Arab Emirates, and I am pleased to have had the opportunity to participate and gain extraordinary experience and through Ernst & Young Global Platform. "

The Acting Dean of the College of Management at the University, Dr. Fatima Al-Ali, said that the student Shama Al-Hosani was able to skip all stages of the competition in an honorable manner, as she provided a clear overview of her academic and scientific level as well as previous practical experiences in this field, and in the second phase she was able to overcome many challenges such as customer service Work more efficiently, proven its ability to manage risks, and worked to enhance employee growth and confidence levels.
