The Dubai Health Authority has set five measures to facilitate the communication process between those infected with the Coronavirus, hospitalized, and their families, with the aim of supporting them morally and easing the burden of disease on them, especially in light of the restrictions imposed on visiting patients to limit the spread of the disease, and enhance the recovery process.

And it called on all health facilities in Dubai to adhere to the new procedures.

She explained that the first new measures are the necessity for all health facilities to provide direct phone numbers, so that the families of the injured patient can communicate with him, to know and follow up on the developments of his health condition.

The second measure, which was made available by the authority, is the commitment of health professionals, including the medical and nursing staff responsible for the health status of each patient infected with the virus, to take the necessary steps to communicate by phone with the patient's family, inform them of the developments of the patient's health status, and clarify his health status periodically, after obtaining The written consent of the patient or his legal representative, in accordance with the provisions of applicable legislation, and the documentation of that consent in the patient's health record.

The authority continued, "The third measure is to keep those infected with the virus, who are in intensive or intensive care, informed of the developments of the patient's health condition on a daily basis, within the limits of his infection with the Coronavirus only." And it added: "The fourth procedure is to verify the identity of the person before giving any information about a case. The injured person, and in the event that information about the condition of the injured person is requested from an unauthorized person, the patient’s relatives are contacted on the registered numbers, and they are given information about the inquiry and the condition of the injured ».

The authority stated that the fifth procedure is to record all contacts with the injured person's family in his medical file, provided that "the contact number includes the name of the health professional who made the call, his specialty, the name of the person who was contacted, his relationship with the patient, and the time of contact."
