On March 7, State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi stated at the press conference of the two sessions that China-Japan relations need to maintain stability and not be affected by temporary events.

For example, the "Maritime Police Law" promulgated and implemented by China that you mentioned just now is just a routine domestic legislation, which is not targeted at a specific country and is in full compliance with international law and international practice.

In fact, many countries, including Japan, have formulated and implemented similar regulations for a long time.

It is the consistent position of the Chinese government to handle maritime disputes through friendly consultations without the use of force or threats of force. This is also a long-term consensus between China and neighboring countries.

China and Japan will host the Olympic Games successively.

The two sides can and should support each other and participate in the grand event together, so that these two grand events will become a platform for deepening the friendship between the two peoples and an opportunity to promote the development of Sino-Japanese relations.

Let us focus on Tokyo this summer and meet in Beijing next year.
