Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The important weekly value of new corona infections has risen again slightly in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) showed a seven-day incidence of 65.1 on Sunday.

On the previous day, the figure that shows the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days was 64.6.

For around two weeks, the value for NRW has been relatively constant above 60. According to the RKI figures, 1685 people were newly infected within 24 hours, 14 died.

Nationwide, the incidence was slightly higher than in NRW at 66.1.

Seven districts were well above the critical value of 100 in North Rhine-Westphalia: The district of Düren (132.6), the Märkische Kreis (127.5) and the Oberbergische Kreis (116.2) as well as the cities of Remscheid (123.0) , Hagen (105.5), Hamm (105.0) and Herne (102.9).

13 of the 53 districts and independent cities in North Rhine-Westphalia were below the 50 mark on Sunday, from which regional easing would be possible.

The district of Coesfeld (17.7), Bielefeld (31.1) and Bottrop (34.0) had the lowest infection rates.
