When Hussain Hamza first rescued a stray dog 15 years ago, he was like someone who found his way and found his way, and the desire to devote his life to a pet known for his loyalty to humans.

Since then, Hamza has been helping dogs around his home, or asking his friends to adopt them, but he said that five years ago, the need for a proper shelter increased, and now the shelter is caring for around 350 dogs.

Hamzah - who is 50 years old and not married yet - works in agriculture, and considers every dog in his shelter his "son".

He knows each one of them by name, so much so that he feels anxious when he thinks about her fate after his death, and says that she needs a large budget to continue his project, and that the worst financial crisis afflicting Lebanon makes life more difficult.

Despite his limited income, he still spends most of what he earns on dogs, and he said that he needs between 7 and 20 kilograms of dry food a day for his dogs.

Hamza pays most of the shelter's expenses himself, with the help of what he calls "good people" who donate dry food.

He summarizes his feelings with the phrase "giving without return is a source of happiness."

Hamza is one of the few shelters in southern Lebanon to take care of stray dogs.
