In recent days, protesters have taken to the streets in different parts of the country to demand the release of Ousmane Sonko.

The mobilization now goes beyond the political affair, with social and economic demands.

In this context, the Mediator of the Republic called on President Macky Sall to speak.

Alioune Badara Cissé, member of the ruling party but reputedly independent personality, warns of an escalation.

For him, "

we must listen to the youth

 "

“

I have seen a youth without hope, youth who no longer know which way to turn and if we are not careful, the lid will jump eminently.

We were not given this country to sit back and sit with.

We were entrusted with it so that we could offer alternative management methods, so that we could respond to those who, soon twelve years ago, confided their fate to us.

But I must admit with you that we have deviated from these objectives.

This youth is remembered.

 "

“

We have a duty to pause and listen to them.

Stop threatening and terrorizing them.

It does not go through.

The pandemic has been there.

It is going all over the place and we are on the verge of an apocalypse.

Excellency, Mr. President of the Republic, we are at your disposal to listen to you and extend your word, but it is yours that the people want to hear.

Do it before it is too late

”, declared Alioune Badara Cissé, mediator of the Republic, in front of the press, this Sunday, March 7.
