Painten (dpa / lby) - In Painten (Kelheim district), a three-year-old girl was run over by a reversing van and fatally injured on Saturday.
The 42-year-old driver had previously delivered parcels to a residential building in the Maierhofen district, as the police announced.
The accident occurred when he wanted to leave the courtyard and overlooked the child during a maneuver.
The critically injured girl was reportedly flown with the rescue helicopter to the Regensburg University Clinic while resuscitation was still in progress, but where she died a little later.
The van driver suffered a severe shock.
