Saalbach-Hinterglemm (dpa) - The Swiss Marco Odermatt won the Super-G in Saalbach-Hinterglemm and made the fight for the overall World Cup standings even more exciting.

The 23-year-old managed a perfect run in an extremely difficult ski race, relegating Matthieu Bailet from France to second place by 0.62 seconds.

Third place went to the Austrian world champion Vincent Kriechmayr (+0.81).

From the German ski team, Andreas Sander managed to return to the top ten in eighth place (+1.54) after finishing only 24th in the downhill the day before.

Josef Ferstl also convinced in the first Super-G after his injury with 13th place (+2.02).
