Erfurt (dpa / th) - According to an MDR report, the right-wing extremist scene is said to be active even after a neo-Nazi center in the Herrenberg residential area of Erfurt has been cleared.

MDR Thuringia based its report on Sunday on assessments by Thuringia's constitution protection president Stephan Kramer.

The threat from right-wing extremists continues there, said Kramer.

"The inhibition threshold to use violence is very low."

During daily encounters in the residential area, the right-wing extremists left "no doubt who is the master of the street," Kramer told the broadcaster.

Neo-Nazis are also represented in the district advisory board.

According to MDR, since the eviction of the right-wing property in December 2020, police have recorded four right-wing political crime reports.

Theresa Lauß from the Thuringian victim counseling «ezra» told the MDR that she assumed, however, that those affected hardly reported any complaints out of fear.

A spokesman for the city of Erfurt also said that the situation should still be assessed as critical.

The meeting point on Herrenberg has been considered one of the most important neo-Nazi properties in Thuringia with concerts and events by various right-wing extremist parties in recent years.
