This year's government work report stated that "do our utmost to help new citizens and young people alleviate housing difficulties."

In one word, many young people's hearts.

There is a saying that renting a house is the first lesson the society teaches young people.

This "first lesson" is to make young people more practical and motivated within a reasonable range of pressure, or to directly dissuade the dreams placed on big cities. It is very important.

At the National Two Sessions this year, many proposals and members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference focused on this topic.

"Big cities have many job opportunities and a large influx of young people. However, due to the high purchase and holding costs of housing in big cities, the general rent is high, which is unbearable for many fresh graduates." CPPCC National Committee member and chairman of Fang Tianxia Mo In an interview with a reporter from China News Agency, Tianquan pointed out that housing pressure is mainly concentrated in big cities.

First, large cities attract population inflows and generate more housing demand, resulting in insufficient housing supply; second, under strong market demand, housing prices rise faster; third, rental prices are also more expensive.

He said that if the housing difficulties of young people are not well alleviated, it is easy to cause brain drain.

Even if young people stay in big cities, high housing costs will reduce the happiness index.

Last year, some renting agents countered rent increases due to the epidemic, which caused young tenants to feel uneasy.

"Regulating the leasing market is the key." Yang Changchang, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chief economist of Shenwan Hongyuan Securities Research Institute, pointed out to a reporter from China News Agency that the rights and interests of lessees should be clarified from a legal perspective and the market order should be regulated.

The Central Committee of the Peasants and Workers Party’s "Proposal on Accelerating the Improvement of the Modern Housing System to Solve the Prominent Housing Problems in Big Cities" pointed out that new citizens and young people may become a "sandwich layer" whose ability to pay is not as good as the purchase of commercial housing and the standards for purchasing affordable housing.

More affordable rental housing should be provided for this group, so that new citizens and young people can feel the "city temperature".

The proposal also suggests that land supply needs to be tilted towards the construction of rental housing to fundamentally solve the "bottleneck" problem in the housing rental market.

In addition, the "same right to rent and purchase" should be promoted so that long-term renters have the right to enjoy the same urban public services.

After years of savings and plans to start a family, many young people also hope to buy their own stable homes in big cities.

The proposal suggests that the accuracy of the policy should be improved, and the difference in the down payment ratio and interest rate between housing provident fund loans and ordinary commercial loans should be greatly reduced, so as to benefit more low- and middle-income groups.

Mo Tianquan also said that to solve the difficulties of young people in buying houses, the housing provident fund system alone is not enough. Low-income groups can be subsidized and supplemented to support their purchase of their first houses.

Measures such as the provision of affordable housing that the government is already doing also need to be vigorously promoted.

During the interview, several committee members mentioned at the same time that in recent years, the country has begun to adopt measures such as price-limiting sales in the new housing market, simultaneous rental and purchase, increasing the supply of affordable housing, the construction of talented apartments, and the development of long-term rental apartments.

I believe that after the policies are implemented one by one, the housing problem of young people will gradually improve.

Those who work hard in these cities will have their own lights in the cities illuminated by them.
