The referee of the match between Kelantan and Birak in the Malaysian Football League yesterday, Saturday, was exposed to an embarrassing situation after the first-team striker pushed him for standing in front of him inside the opponent's penalty area, which caused him to prevent him from reaching the ball and shooting it towards the goal.

Social media users shared the video clip the moment the striker pushed the referee, who fell to the ground to stop the game, indicating a foul against the Kelantan striker, and considered an indirect free kick for the visiting team.

The result indicated a negative tie between the two teams in the 40th minute of the first half, and an attack in favor of the Kelantan team, but the referee was between the players inside the penalty area, which prevented the striker of the owners of the land from reaching the ball to push the player.

Despite the clarity of the player's intention to push the referee, the latter settled for calculating an indirect free kick for Perak's team, and did not issue any warning to the striker who pushed him and knocked him down.

If the technical referee’s decision to count an indirect free kick was correct, then his disregard for an administrative decision against the player was - despite his mistake in positioning - an excess of his dignity as a judge for the stadiums, as the player should have been expelled for the disgraceful behavior, which is one of the reasons for expulsion in Article 12 of the Law Ball (mistakes and misconduct).

It was evident that the attacker intentionally pushed the referee forcefully with both hands in an insulting manner to collide with the opponent and fall to the ground, and the striker did not even try to skip him to compete with the defender for the ball, and he did not express any remorse or apology even after his disgraceful act, as if the referee’s error in positioning allowed him to assault him, which is what Emphasizes the necessity of imposing the heaviest punishment on him as he has committed dishonorable behavior.

It seems that the referee felt a mistake in positioning, as he should not be in any way in the way of the ball or active play, and in this particular case his ideal place was outside the penalty area so that he would not fall into such an impasse.

Aku syak pengadil ni dulu bekas player bola.

Dia main striker dulu cita2 nak main Liga Perdana tapi takde rezeki.

Tu yang dia geram masuk kotak penalti nak join Kelantan attack cari gol

Tweeters criticized the referee’s presence in the penalty area in this way, and one of them said, “He (the referee) should have stayed outside the box.

Others mocked the shot, saying it was a funny thing in the world of football, and an activist said sarcastically to the referee, "I think he was a former footballer."
