Kiel (AP) - Second division soccer team Holstein Kiel has respect for rival Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals of the DFB Cup.
"We will work through the task with North German enthusiasm," said Holstein's sports director Uwe Stöver on Sunday about the draw in the ARD's "Sportschau".
“Not an easy opponent, of course.
But no matter which opponent would have come, it would not have been an easy one, »said team captain Hauke Wahl.
“Personally, I would have liked a home game, but I don't think playing in Dortmund is so bad either.
We are therefore particularly looking forward to the task as a team. "
Holstein Kiel had thrown the West German regional league club Rot-Weiss Essen 3-0 out of the race in the quarter-finals.
Previously, the North Germans had eliminated record champions and Champions League winner Bayern Munich with a sensational victory on penalties and in the round of 16 the league rivals Darmstadt 98 also in the penalty duel.
In the other semifinals, the quarterfinals winner Jahn Regensburg will face each other against Werder Bremen and RB Leipzig.
The semi-finals will be played on May 1st and 2nd.
