"The project will serve to develop the interest of young Guatemalans in science and will allow them to explore the topic of space," - quoted by RIA Novosti press attaché of the embassy Arseny Rebrov.

The establishment of this center is the central theme of cooperation between the University of Guatemala Mariano Galvez and the Russian Southwestern State University (SWSU).

Rebrov noted that the Russian university provided Guatemala with software for receiving information from student satellites and nanosatellites.

Earlier, Guatemala registered the Sputnik V vaccine against the Russian-made coronavirus, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) reported.
