Bielefeld (dpa) - Arminia Bielefeld's new coach Frank Kramer missed a win on his debut - but at least not lost.

After the separation from promotion coach Uwe Neuhaus, which was criticized by many fans, East Westphalia, who were strong on the defensive against 1. FC Union Berlin, scored 0-0 on Sunday.

Arminia have now been waiting for a win for six games.

Bielefeld, however, ousted FSV Mainz 05 from the relegation place again by winning the point.

Union remained unbeaten for the fourth time in a row and is still seventh in the Bundesliga.

In the first half, which was characterized by injury interruptions, it was not possible to see which of the two teams would have to worry about staying in the class.

The Berliners tried again and again to come with combinations over the right wing in front of the goal of Bielefeld keeper Stefan Ortega.

But the guests didn't get a shot on goal in the first round and the Bielefeld defensive, which was recently so fragile, hardly embarrassed.

The first good chance to score had Arminia's attacker Sergio Cordova, whose low shot Berlin goalkeeper Andreas Luthe was able to fend off with his foot (13th).

Luthe had obviously coped with a violent clash ten minutes earlier with Union defender Julian Ryerson.

The two professionals had been lying on the ground for minutes and had to be treated.

Sergio Córdova had to leave early after another collision with pain in his upper jaw, Kramer brought Andreas Voglsammer (29th).

The new coach, who had not made any fundamental changes in the starting line-up, paced the sidelines almost non-stop, spurring his team on and cheering.

"Out!" He kept shouting to his defenders after winning the ball.

In the second half, Kramer saw how Ortega held Marius Bülter's header safely (51st).

The favored guests built up pressure, but still found it difficult on the offensive - as has often been the case recently.

In the past eight games, the club from the capital had only scored five goals.

That is how many goals the team of coach Urs Fischer had in the first half of the season against Bielefeld alone (5-0).

Substitute Keita Endo missed the lead shortly before the end (82nd).

Bielefeld missed using the current offensive weakness of the Berliners.

The East Westphalia also remained too harmless in the second round.

In the catch-up game against Werder Bremen on Wednesday, they now have the opportunity to score important points in the relegation battle in another home game.
