Munich (AP) - FC Bayern Munich has given Jérôme Boateng the “all-clear” after the knee injury.
As the German soccer champions announced on Sunday, the central defender sustained a strained capsule in his left knee in the 4-2 Bundesliga top match against Borussia Dortmund.
Boateng was substituted for BVB after 70 minutes and had to be supported on the way off the field.
That had raised concerns that he might have been more seriously injured.
The 32-year-old will complete an individual rehab program in the coming days.
The club did not predict how long Boateng would be out.
In the case of comparable injuries, the downtime can be three to six weeks.
