Ulmet (dpa / lrs) - A 71-year-old pedelec rider got off the bike path on an excursion near Ulmet (Kusel district), drove down an embankment and fell into a river.
According to the police, the man was seriously injured in the accident on Sunday morning and was taken to a hospital by rescue helicopter.
His three companions pulled the 71-year-old out of the water, provided first aid and notified the emergency services.
Why the man drove into the embankment was initially unclear.
