Bad Ems (dpa / lrs) - 16 girls under the age of 15 had an abortion in Rhineland-Palatinate in 2019.
82 young women between the ages of 15 and 18 also terminated a pregnancy in the same year - as did 20 women over 44, as reported by the State Statistical Office in Bad Ems.
A total of 3592 women aborted in Rhineland-Palatinate in 2019.
In 3478 cases, the terminations were made according to the so-called counseling regulation.
A medical indication was the justification for the abortion in 113 cases - in one case a sexual offense.
2,296 of the women with abortions in the country in 2019 - almost 64 percent - were already living under one roof with one or more underage children.
