This week, the City of Västerås announced that approximately 10 percent of the ballot papers prior to the referendum on Västerås Airport were delayed from printing.

About 12,000 ballot papers would probably not have time to be distributed before the early voting started on Saturday 6 March.

Thanks to extra work and overtime from the post office, however, by the end of Friday, all but 1,500 voting cards had been issued.

They will be handed out on Monday, says Västerås City's election coordinator Mikael Stenås.

This means that about 98.8 percent of all received their voting cards on time.

It's sad if this is done for someone, but now there are 13 days left to vote early.

However, the information that some Västerås residents have received double ballot papers at home in the mailbox is new to him.

- It does not mean that you will be able to vote twice.

Attempting to do so will invalidate both votes.

- It must be followed up afterwards how everything worked, but you have to keep in mind that it has nevertheless been quite short lead times for the printing house, for example, he says.
