Selm (dpa / lnw) - When a car rammed her car, a woman in Selm (Unna district) was seriously injured.
At first it was unclear who was behind the wheel in the second car, because after the accident a man got out and fled on foot - and his friend pretended to be the driver, the police reported on Saturday.
Because the friend was very drunk, however, he harmed himself more with his confession than helped the other.
Witnesses had also seen the driver run away after the collision.
The police met the alleged driver a little later - also drunk - in a workers' accommodation.
Both men had to give blood samples.
The seriously injured woman was taken to a hospital.
The scene of the accident, a roundabout, was badly devastated and closed.
