Wolfsburg (dpa) - Sports director Marcel Schäfer from VfL Wolfsburg has not commented on reports of an exit clause in coach Oliver Glasner's contract, which runs until 2022.

"You know that we do not provide any information about the content of the contract," said Schäfer on the Saturday before the Bundesliga game at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on Sky.

Glasner himself had said the day before: "One part of the contract is that we do not comment on parts of the contract."

The “kicker” had reported that Glasner could leave VfL this year against payment of a fixed transfer fee.

"I find it a bit strange that someone from outside may try to bring in unrest," said ex-professional Schäfer.

Glasner moved to Wolfsburg in summer 2019 as the successor to Bruno Labbadia.

In his first season he led VfL to a Europa League place, currently he is on the Champions League course with third place in the table.
