Los Angeles / London (AP) - Before the eagerly awaited interview by Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry with US presenter Oprah Winfrey, the atmosphere between the couple and the British royal family is poisoned.

In the United States, friends and ex-colleagues took the former actress Meghan into protection against allegations of bullying.

But the pressure from Great Britain is growing.

According to a report by the Telegraph, the Charity Commission is now examining the couple's former charity, Sussex Royal, which Meghan and Harry closed in July 2020 after their royal exit.

"Coincidence: a remarkable coincidence of events or circumstances without an obvious causal link," tweeted the Royal expert Peter Hunt ironically, referring to the time shortly before the interview.

The broadcaster CBS wants to broadcast the conversation on Sunday evening (local time).

On Wednesday, Buckingham Palace confirmed that former employees would investigate allegations of bullying against the Duchess.

British media reported extensively on Saturday about Meghan's alleged special requests and their disputes with employees and family members during their time at court.

Buckingham Palace is said to have received a copy of the interview in advance.

In clips that have already been published, Meghan raises sharp allegations against the royal family.

"I don't see how after all this time you can expect us to still remain silent if the company plays an active role in perpetuating falsehoods about us."

Members themselves are also said to occasionally refer to the royal family as a "company".

Meghan's former colleague Patrick J. Adams (39), who played with her for several years in the US lawyer series "Suits", criticized the British royal family in several tweets: It was "obscene" that the royal family was bullying - Promote and reinforce allegations.

«Find someone else whom you admonish, abuse and torment.

My friend Meghan is in a completely different league. "

The couple's biographer, Carolyn Durand, criticized the palace's double standards.

"Why were Prince Harry's honorary military titles revoked, but not Prince Andrew's?" Durand told Sky News.

Prince Andrew, the third child of Queen Elizabeth II, is involved in the abuse scandal involving the now deceased multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein.

In this case, the palace did not order an investigation, said Durand.

The interview will cover numerous topics, according to CBS: Meghan's entry into the royal family, marriage, motherhood, charitable work and how the ex-actress deals with life under public scrutiny.

About a year ago, Harry and Meghan decided to renounce their royal duties and emigrate to the US, the homeland of the former actress, with their son Archie, who will be two in May.

In the meantime, together with the Queen, they have decided not to return to royal life.

On Monday, the conversation can also be seen on German TV on RTL and Vox (3 p.m. and 10.15 p.m.).
