Austrian world champion Vincent Kriechmayr won the World Cup downhill in Saalbach (Austria) on Saturday ahead of Switzerland's Beat Feuz who approached a fourth small crystal globe in a row.

Sacred world champion in downhill and super-G in February in Cortina d'Ampezzo (Italy), Kriechmayr followed in Saalbach with the number N.1.

The day after the cancellation of the first descent due to fog, he was ahead under the sun Beat Feuz by 17/100 and his compatriot Olympic champion Matthias Mayer by 27/100.

Feuz now leads the classification of the specialty by 68 points ahead of Mayer while there is only one downhill to go.

Switzerland's Marco Odermatt impressed by taking fifth place at 79/100 to score 45 points and climb back to 165 points behind Frenchman Alexis Pinturault in the overall standings.

Best Frenchman, Johan Clarey took 9th place.
