Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The number of new corona infections in North Rhine-Westphalia has increased slightly again in a weekly comparison.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the important seven-day incidence on Saturday at 64.6.

The day before, the figure that shows the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days was 63.9.

For around two weeks, the value for NRW has been relatively constant between 60 and 65. According to the RKI figures from Saturday, 1982 people were newly infected within 24 hours, 53 died.

Nationwide, the incidence was slightly higher than in NRW at 65.6.

Six districts in North Rhine-Westphalia were above the critical incidence value of 100: The district of Düren (125.8), the Märkische Kreis (125.1), the cities of Remscheid (113.2), Hamm (108.9) and Hagen (107.6) and for the first time again the Oberbergische Kreis (100.3).

17 of the 53 districts and independent cities in North Rhine-Westphalia were below the important 50 mark, from which regional easing would be possible.

The district of Coesfeld (20.9), Bielefeld (26.9) and Bottrop (37.4) had the lowest infection rates.
