Los Angeles (AP) - Oscar winner Nicolas Cage (57, “Leaving Las Vegas”) has married his girlfriend Riko Shibata, according to media reports.
The couple had already said yes on February 16 in Las Vegas, reported the "People" magazine on Friday (local time), citing a spokesman for the US actor.
"It is true and we are very happy," Cage was quoted as saying by the paper.
The wedding in a hotel in Las Vegas in the US state of Nevada was very small and familiar, the newspaper reported.
The bride, who is 26 years old according to media reports, wore a handmade Japanese wedding kimono while Cage appeared in a tuxedo.
According to the “People” report, the couple met more than a year ago in Japan.
For Cage, it is the fifth marriage.

The Hollywood star was married to his colleague Patricia Arquette for six years (1995-2001), while the marriage to Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of the "King of Rock'n'Roll" Elvis Presley, lasted only three and a half months.
In 2004 he married the restaurant worker Alice Kim, they divorced in 2016 after twelve years of marriage.
In 2019, after a very short marriage, Cage divorced his fourth wife, makeup artist Erika Koike.
