Karlsruhe (AP) - Karlsruher SC has ended FC St. Pauli's winning streak in the 2nd Bundesliga.

Due to the 0-0 on Saturday in the Wildpark Stadium, the KSC missed a big step towards promotion.

After five wins in a row, however, the Hamburgers are still in the secured midfield of the table.

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh (7th minute) and Rico Benatelli (57th) had the greatest scoring chances for the guests, but both failed because of the strongly reacting KSC goalkeeper Marius Gersbeck.

Benjamin Goller (60th) missed the best opportunity for Karlsruhe, who did not pass the also strong guest keeper Dejan Stojanovic free in front of the goal.

After a weak first half, the game only picked up momentum after the break.

A few days after the derby victory against HSV, St. Pauli appeared self-confident, but the sometimes outstanding Gersbeck saved KSC from falling behind.

In the final phase, the Kiezclub decreased more and more, but the Karlsruhe team was unable to use it to score the winner.
