A few months before the Euro, the unalterable Swedish football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic should make his return to the national team at the end of March, the Swedish media argued on Saturday, a potential return discussed for several months but which has not been confirmed by the Federation.

"According to several different sources, Zlatan is now called to take part in the qualifying match for the World Cup on March 25 against Georgia" affirmed the specialized site Footbolldirekt, taken up by the whole of the Swedish national press.

The star striker, who has 116 caps and 62 goals, has not worn the Swedish jersey since Euro-2016.

In the fall, he told the press that he "missed" wearing the yellow jersey of the Swedish selection.

"Ibra", 39, then met coach Janne Andersson for a "good and fruitful" meeting, according to the Swedish football federation.

"The dialogue with Zlatan continues," federation spokesman Jakob Kakembo Andersson told AFP on Saturday, adding that the players selected for the next matches will be announced on March 16.

Without Zlatan, Sweden reached the quarterfinals of the 2018 World Cup.

And qualified directly for Euro-2020, postponed to June and July 2021 because of Covid-19.

She will face in her group in the first round Spain, Poland and Slovakia.
