On the afternoon of March 5th, General Secretary Xi Jinping participated in the deliberations of the Inner Mongolia delegation at the Fourth Session of the 13th National People's Congress and mentioned two historical tales of "jointly building Baotou steel" and "three thousand orphans entering Inner Mongolia".

Here, what kind of story is contained, let us review it together.

Baotou Iron and Steel is one of the first three steel companies to be built in New China.

Here, the first furnace of molten iron flowed out, ending the history of unproductive on the grassland.

However, at the beginning of the construction of Baotou Steel, there were many difficulties, which implies a glorious period of concerted efforts.

In 1958, Baotou Iron & Steel was in a period of large-scale construction, but the eagerly anticipated No. 1 blast furnace construction encountered the problem of insufficient supply of equipment and construction materials.

The Party Central Committee attaches great importance to the construction of Baotou Steel, and proposed "to find ways to solve the difficulties for Baotou Steel".

Throughout the country, all regions, enterprises, and departments have taken active actions to set off a nationwide upsurge of supporting Baotou Steel.

On average, more than 10 wagons of equipment and materials are shipped to Baotou from all over the country every day.

These materials and equipment come from more than 300 enterprises in 22 provinces and 55 cities.

In addition to shipping steel, Anshan Iron and Steel also supports more than 7,000 cadres and workers. Anshan Iron and Steel's old hero and national labor model Meng Tai also brought several technicians to Baotou Iron and Steel to support construction and help solve technical problems.

Enterprises in Shenyang, Tangshan, Hefei, Dalian and other places rush to manufacture equipment day and night; Beijing Military Region, Air Force and Civil Aviation dispatched cars and planes to deliver materials and equipment for Baotou Steel.

With strong support from all parts of the country, Baotou Steel has accelerated the construction speed.

The Central, Autonomous Region, and Baotou City have successively sent literary and artistic groups to the construction site of Baotou Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. to show condolences and boost morale.

For a while, people on the construction site of Baotou Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. shouted with joy, the machines roared, and the tower crane stretched out its huge arms to lift the blast furnace up steadily.

The heroic builders of Baotou Steel did not live up to the expectations of the Party Central Committee and the people of the whole country. They united and overcame many difficulties and finally put the No. 1 blast furnace into operation one year ahead of schedule.

Baotou Iron & Steel strongly supports the construction of Beijing-Kowloon. In October 1993, it produced 35,000 tons of heavy rail, the highest record since it was put into production.

From the production of the first furnace of molten iron to the annual output of 15 million tons of steel, Baotou Steel has witnessed the glorious course of the construction of the Republic and the development of the national industry.

For more than 60 years, Baotou Iron & Steel has experienced ups and downs in development, resonating at the same frequency as the reform of state-owned enterprises, constantly turning on "break away" and pressing the accelerator button.

Especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Baotou Steel has promoted supply-side structural reforms, accelerated technology and product upgrades, and transformed development momentum, breaking through numerous difficulties and striding forward to high-quality development, and is radiating new vitality.

From 1959 to 1961, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and other places were in difficulties. The rice grains in the nursery were about to bottom out. What about the thousands of children adopted by the government?

The party and government decided to send these "children of the country" to the grasslands.

The news spread quickly across the grassland like the wind.

Aged Eji (Mongolian meaning mother), middle-aged women, newlyweds, some ride horses, some drive carts, and some walk hundreds of miles, scrambling to adopt these orphans.

Some couples did not receive their children and shed tears because of their grievances.

In 1961, Zhang Fengxian, who worked as a caregiver in the Health Center of the Heyinhalwa Commune, negotiated with her husband Dolji, who worked on a livestock farm, and adopted 6 children.

The little bird came home, and the children finally had a home.

The Ejis on the grassland take care of these "children of the country" and painstakingly educate them to grow up.

Originally separated by thousands of miles, there is no blood relationship, but now they are connected and dependent on life and death.

Between 3,000 Han orphans and Mongolian mothers, there is a story that transcends region, blood, and ethnicity.

During the difficult period of Baotou Iron and Steel, Shenzhou Dadi gathered its efforts to support Baotou's construction and help Inner Mongolia. In the face of the difficulties of natural disasters, the herdsmen of Inner Mongolia dedicated their love and responsibility, and used their own milk to treat the "children of the country" Raise an adult.

These two historical stories on the grassland vividly interpret the brothers and sisters of all ethnic groups in the big family of the Chinese nation.
