Gelsenkirchen (AP) - Former national player Dietmar Hamann has already made a devastating verdict on the FC Schalke 04 season.
"In the history of the Bundesliga, there has rarely been a more deserved relegation than Schalke," said Hamann on Saturday on Sky TV about the bottom of the Bundesliga table.
"Since yesterday at the latest," "everyone is aware" that the fourth Bundesliga relegation can no longer be avoided, said the 47-year-old.
Under the new coach Dimitrios Grammozis, Schalke only played 0-0 against FSV Mainz 05 on Friday evening.
After the 24th matchday, the gap to a non-relegation place could have increased to eleven points.
