The Czech Republic is currently hard hit by the pandemic.

The country's hospitals are overcrowded and Covid patients must be transferred abroad, especially to Germany, Switzerland and Poland.

Nurse Lucie Skodackova works in pulmonology in a hospital near the German border.

In a video posted by local firefighters, she recounts how the coronavirus is sweeping away her patients: "

For the Minister of Health Jan Blatny, the relaxation of containment measures is not on the agenda: 

"We can consider a potential deconfinement when the number of patients has fallen

 from 7,000 currently to less than 3,000. .

 "

The Czech Prime Minister himself admitted mistakes in the management of the crisis.

In the streets of Prague, patients tend to agree, like Pavla who only goes out to walk her baby in her stroller.

 In my opinion, one of the biggest mistakes was to reopen everything at Christmas time, the number of contaminations has continued to increase since then. 

"

Out for his jogging, Lukas regrets that the restrictions were often too measured and too late.

 In addition, politics got involved with the legislative elections scheduled for next fall.

And it is ordinary people who suffer from it,

 ”he said.

France has decided to send 15,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, while the Czech authorities have already contacted Moscow and Beijing for Chinese and Russian vaccines.
