Controversy arose when a video of a Korean security officer kicking in front of local female workers and getting angry at a Korean shoe factory in Indonesia was released.

According to local media and social media, a video filmed inside a Korean shoe factory in Subang, West Java on the 4th spread quickly.

The video featured a masked man pointing his finger at the floor among Indonesian female workers and then kicking something on the floor.

After the kick, the man placed his hand on his waist and continued to admonish the female workers out loud.

After the video was posted, Indonesian netizens responded by saying, "Korean superiors should not use violence against Indonesian employees in this way" and "This behavior should be severely punished."

False rumors spread that a Korean man kicked an Indonesian female worker.

The victims reportedly alleged that the Korean man's kick caused food to splash and even scratch the back of his hand.

Local authorities and labor civic groups have also tried to find out the facts.

In response, a company official said in a phone call with a local Yonhap News correspondent, "For sanitation in the factory, internal eating is prohibited." However, even though the food bag was on the floor, workers continued to insist that they'did not eat', and the security officer could not stand upset and kicked the food bag with his feet as the flurry broke out.”

The security officer in question is a Korean hired locally and was fired on the morning of the 5th, the day after the incident.

The management said, "I immediately quit the person according to the zero-tolerance principle of violence and harassment in the company," and "I apologized to the victims and will make sure that this does not happen again."
