The call that a car had run into the water came in at 10 pm on Saturday and the rescue service, ambulance and police were alerted to the scene.
The two passengers were then on the car roof without being able to get ashore.
-They had driven out on the ice and thought it would last and it did not.
If the ice does not hold for people, it is almost unlikely that the ice will hold for a car, police spokesman Per Bjurström tells TT.
After a short rescue operation, the two people were picked up by the rescue service and they are reportedly not injured.
The police are also not investigating any crime in connection with the incident.
