2019 - A Virginia court sentenced former US President Donald Trump's campaign manager Paul Manafort to 47 months in prison for tax and banking offenses.

Further prison sentences followed later.

In 2020 he will be pardoned by Trump.

2016 - Russia's tennis star Maria Sharapova makes public that she has taken a prohibited cardiovascular drug.

The five-time Grand Slam winner will be suspended until April 2017 for doping.

2011 - Olaf Scholz (SPD) is elected Hamburg's new head of government.
