Preußisch Oldendorf (dpa / lnw) - Another case of avian influenza on a farm in Preußisch Oldendorf has been officially confirmed by the Friedrich Loeffler Institute.

This emerges from a message from the Minden-Lübbecke district on Saturday.

A restricted area and an observation area have been set up around the farm.

There are far-reaching measures to contain the animal disease.

As the responsible authority, the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut had already on Thursday the highly contagious avian flu virus (Influenza A virus of the subtype H5N8) both in 20,000 ducks killed in the meantime in a fattening farm in Versmold (Gütersloh district) and in a hobby farm in Paderborn district detected after the disease broke out among the animals there.
