Berlin (dpa / bb) - The corona virus is spreading in Berlin at an unchanged speed.

The city's health authorities reported 313 new infections on Saturday, two more than on Saturday last week.

Since the middle of last week, the infection rate in Berlin has been stronger than nationwide: In the past seven days, around 68 per 100,000 inhabitants were infected with the epidemic, and across Germany it was 65.

This code is decisive for the country's opening strategy.

The value must be below 100 in order for the easing that will apply from next week to endure.

Shopping in previously closed stores, for example, should be possible with an appointment from Tuesday.

For private meetings, two households with a total of five people are allowed, not including children up to 14 years of age.

There are clear differences between the districts when it comes to infections.

If 37.1 people were infected in Pankow in the past seven days, it was 94.9 in Neukölln.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 123 503 of the roughly 3.7 million Berliners have contracted the corona virus.

2,892 patients have died related to the virus.

Almost 216,000 people received the first dose, and a good 127,500 the necessary second dose.
