At first glance, it looks like a normal video of actor Tom Cruise.

But he's not.

The video is a so-called "deepfake" and a little simplified you can say that it is a video that has been edited to look like a person, in this case Tom Cruise.

As this type of video gets better and harder to distinguish from what is genuine, the question arises what consequences it can have, if we no longer know what is genuine or made up.

- We have worked with counterfeits for a long time in other areas and in some way handled it, says Karl Åström, professor at Lund University who researched "Deepfakes".

- What happens if a fake clip is spread the day before an election, from someone with an obvious agenda to spread misinformation, asks Erik Wisterberg, tech and business reporter at SvD.
