05 March 2021 In the next two to three weeks, by the end of March, over 7 million doses of vaccines should arrive in Italy.

This was announced by the Emergency Commissioner Francesco Paolo Figliuolo in this morning's meeting with the regions, according to what is learned from Ansa.

The general underlined that a strong speeding up in the distribution of doses is necessary, as it will be crucial to identify the places where to administer them.

Vaccination points must be increased, explained Figliuolo, using every possibility: production sites, civil protection assets and the armed forces.

The emergency commission will take care of increasing the vaccination centers and of health and organizational reinforcements.

Figliuolo and the head of the Civil Protection, Fabrizio Curcio, then met the Prime Minister Mario Draghi at Palazzo Chigi.

According to what is learned, the Commissioner and the head of department would have provided the premier with a series of data on the progress of the vaccination campaign and made a point on the digital platform that monitors the administration in real time.

In the Dpcm the possibility of having the Armed Forces

In the Dpcm of appointment of the new emergency commissioner, viewed by Adnkronos, the possibility for Figliuolo, who will play the role "free of charge" like his predecessor, of to dispose of the Armed Forces in the fight against Covid, and this is the substantial difference with respect to the appointment of Domenico Arcuri.

Already in the Dpcm we can therefore see the element with which the Draghi government aims to change the pace of the vaccination campaign, fielding the Army and, more generally, the Armed Forces.

In fact, the Decree recognizes "the need to ensure the highest sanitary response to the epidemiological emergency COVID-19 also through a rapid, rational, coordinated and effective execution of the vaccination campaign throughout the national territory, through the synergistic and efficient use of all the operational planning and programming capabilities and of the logistical and health structures available to the 'country system' including those of the Armed Forces ".
