Mainz (dpa / lrs) - The Rhineland-Palatinate trade association has responded with satisfaction to the announced opening options for shops from Monday.

"We welcome the prospects that the Rhineland-Palatinate retail sector is opening up to thanks to the state government's swift implementation of the resolution of the Prime Minister's Conference," explained Managing Director Thomas Scherer.

"The dealers are starting the opportunities that have now opened with joyful anticipation, but are also aware that stricter measures could be taken again if the incidence values ​​rise," continued Scherer.

He called on the companies to adhere to the existing hygiene and safety precautions in order to minimize the risk of a possible setback and the associated restrictions for the companies.

In Rhineland-Palatinate, retailers may reopen under certain conditions from Monday in large parts of the country.

Prime Minister Malu Dreyer (SPD) announced on Friday after the cabinet meeting in Mainz that there would be a limit of 10 square meters per customer in shops up to 800 square meters.

For larger shops, 20 square meters per customer apply.
