The Nepalese government signs a peace agreement with an anti-government organization

Xinhua News Agency, Kathmandu, March 5 (Reporter Zhou Shengping) The Nepalese government and the anti-government organization led by Changde formally signed a peace agreement on the 5th.

The two sides signed a peace agreement at the Kathmandu City Hall on the same day. Nepalese Prime Minister Oli, Interior Minister Thapa and other government members, as well as Chand attended the signing ceremony.

According to the agreement, the Nepalese government will lift the ban on the activities of this organization, release the organization’s detainees, and withdraw all charges against its leaders and members.

Changde stated at the signing ceremony that the organization will abide by the agreement and carry out political activities in a peaceful manner.

In 2019, the Nepalese government declared it an illegal organization and prohibited its public activities on the grounds that the organization led by Chand planned and carried out a series of bombing attacks in the country.
